Fighter aircraft को operationally उड़ाना एक achievement है। लेकिन experienced fighter pilot को complex air-combat environment में mission leadership और advanced tactical responsibilities के लिए तैयार करना उससे अगली professional stage है।
Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth की latest reported achievement इसी progression को सामने लाती है। Current defence reporting के अनुसार उन्होंने Gwalior स्थित Tactics and Air Combat Development Establishment (TACDE) का Fighter Combat Leader (FCL) course सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया है और ऐसा करने वाली Indian Air Force की पहली महिला pilot बनी हैं।
यह story केवल एक और “first woman” record की नहीं है। असली सवाल है:

Bhawana Kanth की यह progression एक दशक में कैसे बनी?
यह achievement isolated event नहीं है।
18 June 2016 को Bhawana Kanth, Avani Chaturvedi और Mohana Singh को fighter stream में commission किया गया था। Ministry of Defence के official record में इन्हें Indian Air Force की पहली तीन women fighter pilots के रूप में दर्ज किया गया है।
इसके बाद Bhawana Kanth daytime combat missions के लिए qualify करने वाली पहली Indian woman fighter pilot बनीं। March 2026 के PIB backgrounder में यह milestone फिर officially documented है। उसी document में उन्हें Republic Day Parade 2021 में हिस्सा लेने वाली first woman fighter pilot और Republic Day 2024 flypast participant के रूप में भी दर्ज किया गया है।
उनकी professional journey को इसलिए केवल “fighter cockpit तक पहुंचने” की कहानी के रूप में देखना अधूरा होगा।
